Claire has run away from her North-East home and lives on Tony's graveyard allotment. He feds her in return for her help on the plot, until she is lured into the arms of The Boy, whose influence threatens to destroy everything they both hold dear.
A dark but beautifully comic, brash, unusual drama about growth and strength.
Andrew Thompson's debut play explores teenage coercion, intimidation and violence.

Thompson was a 2014/15 member of the Arvon/Jerwood Fellowship under the
mentorship of David Eldridge and is a recipient of a grant from the Peggy Ramsey
Foundation.
The Allotment was developed in 2014 with Live Theatre Newcastle, supported by Arts
Council England.
Development readings and workshops were held with young people from Newcastle
College and Queens Hall Hexham, and the Old Red Lion Theatre London, before the
play’s debut public reading at Vault Festival in 2016 as part of The Locker Outings.
